Hello. I'd like to introduce a proposal related with a new instrument in order to find developers that might be interested in it, so the feasibility of a possible project that emerges can be discussed.
As you already know, the pipe organ is a wind instrument with no breath control, so it lacks the dynamics (expressivity) most wind instruments have.
In the beginings of the XIXth century a new instrument was introduced under the name of Orgue expressif (expressive organ). It was in fact the precursor of the Harmonium and Accordion. It gained much attention from major composers of the time, because of its new capabilities.
It did not have flue pipes, but reeds, since pitch in flue pipes depends too much on breath pressure, so that's why that kind of instrument would not be successful.
But since we move to physical modelling synthesis, many real world limitations can be overcome, and I am sure a virtual expressive pipe organ can be successfully developed.
So thanks for your attention and any kind of feedback will be appreciated.
